Getaways

You know how to cheer for your team. But do you know how to make the most of a hotel stay during gameday?

  • DO: Stay at a hotel within walking distance or within a few-mile public-transit ride from the game
  • DON’T: Assume rideshares will be plentiful – there will likely be a long wait with thousands of fans requesting rides.
  • DO: Plan ahead to pregame at the hotel or a nearby restaurant/bar – reservations or call-ahead recommended!
  • DO: Arrive at the hotel with plenty of time before kick-off in case dozens of fans are trying to check-in at the same time.
  • DO: Wear your team colors proudly
  • DON’T: Assume everyone in the elevator is rooting for your team.
  • DO: Fuel up before kickoff – our Sonesta Hotels and Royal Sonesta hotels near stadiums offer onsite cafes and restaurants!
  • DON’T: Pregame without eating or arriving at the stadium hangry.
  • DO: Book as a rewards member – earn points and work your way toward a free night to fuel your fanship!
  • DO: Take the obligatory team-jersey hotel mirror selfie
  • DON’T: Forget to tag the hotel. 😉
  • DO: Pack a clear handbag just in case the stadium has rules around what types of bags are allowed in and out.
  • DO: Book an extra day at the hotel! Rest, recoup, and explore the neighborhood to extend your trip.
